Do potestowania ;)

In response to: Timers for fast convergence in ISIS

ISIS and OSPF convergence is fast indeed but it could be faster. Please note that the initial SPF computation starts 5.5 seconds after the trigger. On the path of many routers in the large ISP it gives couple of minutes. Examples of timers listed in the post are the compilation of those recommended by Cisco as well as used in real life scenarios.
You are right that tunning timers should be done with caution. The backoff mechanism presented by the second-wait timer protects a network against instability. There are also other methods to speed up convergence. I will discuss it in the next post.

"There are several methods to speed up ISIS convergence. Using timers..."
But what are other methods ? Timers - it is rather obvious for every dynamic routing protocol. I think tuning timers in internetwork should be rather done with caution. In case of isis makes it any visible change ? Isis has fast convergence (!)indeed without that - but maybe I am wrong.

ASA 8.0 to w porownaniu do SA4000 czarna magia wymagajaca 10 lat studiow :)))
